Our view on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

"Throughout the history of art, the concept of dissecting and reimagining popular culture icons has been explored by numerous visionary artists. From Kaws' reinterpretations of familiar figures to Ron English's subversive commentary on consumer culture, to Nychos' intricate anatomical dissections, this artistic style has a rich and diverse lineage. Each artist has brought their unique perspective to this genre, contributing to an evolving tapestry that no single artist can claim to have invented or owned.

In creating 'Anchorball,' my aim was to push the boundaries of this tradition, utilizing AI as a tool to explore new creative possibilities. AI, like any other technological advancement, is a medium that artists can harness to express their vision in novel ways. This innovation should be seen as a continuation of the artistic process, not as a threat to its authenticity or value. Art has always been about experimentation and growth, and embracing new tools is part of that journey.

It is deeply concerning and disheartening to witness the negative and harmful responses that have been directed towards my work, especially the campaign to flood my platform with hateful comments. This kind of behavior undermines the very spirit of creativity and artistic dialogue. Art should be a space for open expression, mutual respect, and constructive criticism, not a battleground for personal attacks and divisive rhetoric.

I believe it is crucial for the art community to come together and promote a culture of respect and understanding. We must acknowledge that every artist has their own journey and their own way of contributing to the larger narrative of art. Rather than tearing each other down, we should be celebrating the diversity and innovation that each artist brings to the table.

I invite Jason and all members of the artistic community to engage in a constructive and respectful dialogue about the use of technology in art. Let us discuss the implications, benefits, and challenges of integrating AI into our creative processes. Such discussions are essential for the growth and evolution of art and can lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of different perspectives and approaches.

In conclusion, I hope we can move forward with a renewed commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive art community, where new ideas are welcomed, and every artist feels respected and valued. Let us turn this moment of conflict into an opportunity for learning, growth, and mutual respect."
