Airside X Anchoball Activation 2024
Anchorball / aka artist Ken Kelleher connected with AIRSIDE Mall in Hong Kong for the March though May themed installation exhibit and art activation. The massive installation runs for 3 months and has attracted thousands of visitors to the mall. It includes 5 large inflatable monsters, nicknamed the ‘Monstrous Marvels’ with the largest being 4 meters tall, 5 of Anchorball’s characters from ‘The Fuzz’ as well as two five meter tall inflatable anime style bunnies know as Starhopper and Quantum Leap. The installation also includes a massive animated LED display of the monsters on the building, an interactive selfie video game, a magic mirror, photobooth, claw machine, and a merchandise booth in the shape of a giant monster’s head.
Anchorball also made a special edition of Starhopper to pay homage to the historic landmark of the Kai Tan Airport that was adjacent to the where Airside was built. The experience also features a food truck run by Honbo that offers the monster burger and other Anchorball character inspired delicacies.
About the AIRSIDE x Anchorball Exhibit
The installation includes the “Kozmik Playground” space park featuring a variety of cute monsters. They each have unique personalities that work harmoniously in the “AIRSIDE Star Monster Park”. Each monster is an inflatable between 3 and 4 meters tall and are apart of the “Monstrous Marvels” series. The “Fantastic Phantom Space” is a quince area in which you can enter and the monsters will imitate your dance moves. If you want to forever capture the fun moments being made while visiting the AIRSIDE Star Monster Park, you can visit the “Weird Selfie Studio” and take pictures to preserve the memories with a monster themed photo area.

Meet the Sky Bunnis
The Sky Bunnis, are a team of super-powered interstellar rabbits who save the galaxy from crisis. The two Sky Bunnis can be seen brought to life as two 5-meter-tall inflatable sculptures in AIRSIDES underground open air plaza. They bring to life elements of the Kai Tai Airport transforming it into these special inflatable sculptures.
Quantum Leap
Quantumleap has the extraordinary ability to phase shift at a quantum level. This means he can temporarily become intangible, allowing physical objects and attacks to pass through him harmlessly. This ability not only makes him an elusive target in battles but also enables him to bypass physical barriers, infiltrating secure locations with ease.
These powers make Quantumleap an invaluable asset to the Sky Bunnis, especially in missions that require stealth, infiltration, or coordinated actions across vast cosmic distances.
Starhopper
Starhopper, one of the illustrious Sky Bunnis, possesses a unique set of secret powers that make him an invaluable member of the team. His abilities are as mystical as they are powerful, deeply connected to the cosmic forces of the universe.
Starhopper has the extraordinary ability to teleport across short and long distances by transforming into pure starlight. This ability allows him to move swiftly in battles or travel vast cosmic distances in the blink of an eye, making him incredibly elusive and unprecedented.
The Honbo Food Truck Experience
Honbo is a homegrown classic cheeseburger joint that embodies and celebrates the straightforward American-style burger. They were founded in March of 2017 in Wan Chai, China. They honor honest and careful cooking and source only high quality ingredients with all-American Double Gold Beef from Wisconsin. For the AIRSIDE x Anchorball event, Honbo created a character inspired burger called the “Starhopper Sliders”. Along with this speciality burger the food truck serves, hot dogs, Mike’s Lemonade, and Apple Pie Frozen Tea.
Popup Shop
We also made a range of selected merchandise to produce for the event with Anchorball monster themed products including t-shirts, plush dolls, tote bags, and socks and Pintail pins. Productes were made exclusively as part of our collaboration with Airside.
One of the best parts of the experience as far as the artist is concerned is the amazing fun people and children have experiencing the work and the event. It’s what makes it so fun.
