Ken Kelleher

Ken Kelleher is an American sculptor and the creator of the Anchorball Universe, an expansive artistic world where monumental sculpture, character-driven narratives, and immersive environments converge.

Working across sculpture, painting, and large-scale installation, Kelleher has developed what he describes as Luminal Pop—a visual language that blends the playful immediacy of popular culture with elemental themes of light, transformation, and human emotion. His works often move fluidly between humor and myth, appearing both whimsical and quietly contemplative, inviting viewers into spaces where imagination and lived experience meet.

Kelleher’s sculptures frequently inhabit public landscapes, transforming parks, gardens, and urban environments into places of wonder and encounter. Whether through luminous stainless-steel forms or vibrant character-based figures, his installations create moments of pause within the rhythms of everyday life. Across continents, his works appear in public settings and private collections, forming an expanding constellation within the evolving world of the Anchorball Universe.

At the center of Kelleher’s practice is the belief that art can function not only as individual objects, but as living worlds—universes of characters, ideas, and environments that unfold across sculpture, narrative, and design. The Anchorball Universe continues to grow as a creative ecosystem where public art, storytelling, and imaginative culture intersect.

Kelleher works closely with his wife and creative partner Sol Kelleher, whose first love is modern art and whose sensibility for culture, design, and intellectual property strategy contributes to the studio’s evolving vision. Together they share a creative life rooted in curiosity, imagination, and the belief that artistic worlds can extend far beyond the boundaries of traditional sculpture.

This shared vision has led to the development of SOL & Ken, a creative platform that expands the imaginative language of the Anchorball Universe into the realm of design and sensory experience. Conceived as a future design house emerging from the studio, SOL & Ken explores the intersection of art, craftsmanship, and everyday life through objects that translate sculptural imagination into forms that can be carried, worn, and lived with.

Future SOL & Ken collections will explore luxury bags, skincare, fragrance, eyewear, footwear, and collectible design objects, extending the creative universe into new material and sensory dimensions.

Based between North America and Europe, Kelleher continues to develop monumental public artworks, new sculptural series, and evolving narrative worlds—inviting audiences into a place where art, imagination, and daily life quietly converge.

STATEMENT

Whether it’s a personal place, corporate, communal, institutional, I see art as a means of engagement to provoke thought, dialogue, introspection and conversation. It becomes part of the fabric of our life. Some articles on my work have made it sound like the renderings I’m doing are the art, but in actuality, the designs I’m doing are meant to be built. I’ve partnered with some of the worlds best fabrication teams to fabricate and install them. they can be installed anywhere in the world. The renderings are created in models with consideration for how they would be fabricated, engineered, installed and the ultimate goal of these renderings is creating permanent pieces. All of these are available for purchase, exhibition & commission. I can be hired for custom collaboration
