The Show
Low Orbit City is the touring chapter of Luminal Pop — Ken Kelleher's body of bold-colour, exaggerated-form character sculpture. Twenty-two sculptural residents and six augmented-reality figures travel together, arriving as a floating-city mythology that descends on a venue, runs for a season, then lifts again.
The residents inhabit five narrative series — Venus Florealis, the Core Characters, the Flower Series, the Tulip Dancers, and the indoor Interior Works led by Ghost Mawse — with an Augmented Layer of cloud-borne characters reachable only by phone camera. Each one is built in the same Luminal Pop language: high-gloss composite, hand-applied colour, and emotional clarity at every scale from edition to civic monument.
Every installation is tuned to its host — gardens, malls, civic plazas, museum forecourts, private estates. Pieces arrive in custom crates, assemble on engineered bases in under a day, and depart the same way when the city lifts. This page is the dossier: who's in the cast, what the host provides, and what it takes to land.
Series 01 · Venus Florealis
Botanical-divine forms that stand at the threshold of flower and figure — the goddess-residents of Low Orbit City. Each piece is built around a central bloom, with the gloss and body of a Luminal Pop character.
Series 02 · Core Characters
The Anchorball Universe's signature figures — Willy, Winky, JellyMochi, Bunni B & Danny, Quantum Leap. Same identities you'll meet across editions and civic commissions, scaled to monumental for the touring chapter.
Series 03 · Flower Series
Standalone botanical residents — Hue Shine, Kung Pao, Mystiflora, Petal Nova, Spire Blossom — at the upper end of the touring height range. Built to anchor a plaza, atrium, or garden axis.
Series 04 · Tulip Dancers
The Tulip Dancers travel as a quartet — Blue, Orange, Purple, Red — a colour-keyed rhythm that can be installed as a cluster, a line, or scattered across a garden footprint.
Series 05 · Augmented Layer
The cloud-borne cast of Low Orbit City — DreamBloom, DreamWeaver, Moki, Tommy BearCloud, Txix, Yabba BearCloud — appear through any phone camera at QR markers placed across the venue. No app install required.
Series 06 · Interior Works
Four interior-scale sculptures — the three Ghost Mawse works, Jimmy, Steve, and Ray, plus JellyMochi at interior scale — designed for visitor centres, conservatories, galleries, cafés, and retail. The outdoor city has an inside: the indoor layer keeps the show open and photographed on days the grounds are quiet, and turns the store into a natural end to the visit.

The artist’s cartoonish style turns the gardens into another world.
Something magical happens when art, nature and curious humans come together.
Nature, art and some nifty tech create a magical journey at RBG.

From the team behind the premiere
Everyone on the team just loved the work so much they said, ‘Let’s skip straight to the big and weird stuff.’
Just all of it just sings RBG.
The best garden in the region, maybe in the country — it’s just such a no-brainer.
This is my first exhibition in Canada, in an incredibly beautiful formal garden space on its 85th anniversary. I love the contrast between the formal elements and the pop art pieces — the bright colors in the dense green and the color splashes of the flowers. The characters feel like they belong here.
Something big and quirky and different for our audience.
