Ken Kelleher (aka Anchorball) Completes Cosmos Deluxe for a Private Collection in Miami Beach

Miami Beach, FL · June 1, 2025

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA — Internationally recognized sculptor Ken Kelleher, also known as Anchorball, has announced the completion, installation or presentation of Cosmos Deluxe, a major project from his expanding international practice.

Cosmos Deluxe is a 15-foot painted stainless steel sculpture created for a private collection in Miami Beach. Emerging from Ken Kelleher's ongoing Floral Series, the work transforms the familiar form of a flower into a bold architectural presence—part botanical form, part contemporary monument.

Set within the lush tropical landscape, its sweeping blue-and-white petals rise above the surrounding vegetation, creating a vivid dialogue between sculpture, architecture and nature. The highly finished surfaces amplify the intensity of the colour while the changing light continually reshapes the work throughout the day.

At this scale, Cosmos Deluxe is experienced not simply as an object, but as an environment and a destination. Its silhouette is immediately recognizable from a distance, while closer viewing reveals the precision, curvature and physical depth of each individual form.

Created in painted stainless steel for permanent outdoor display, the sculpture brings together the visual immediacy of pop culture with the permanence and authority of monumental public art. It demonstrates how a major work can define the identity of a property, anchor a collection and become inseparable from the place it inhabits.

Cosmos Deluxe reflects Kelleher's approach to large-scale commissions: creating works that are joyful and visually direct, yet substantial enough to hold their own within ambitious architectural and natural settings.

For collectors, architects and developers, Cosmos Deluxe demonstrates how a major sculpture can define a property without becoming subordinate to it. The work carries the authority of a permanent outdoor monument while retaining the emotional immediacy, colour and recognizability that allow it to become part of a collection’s public identity.

I wanted Cosmos Deluxe to feel as though it had always belonged within the landscape—something joyful and unexpected, but with enough scale and presence to define the entire property. A monumental sculpture should do more than occupy space; it should give a place its identity.
— Ken Kelleher (aka Anchorball)

The project forms part of Kelleher’s broader practice across Luminal Pop and Elemental sculpture, spanning monumental public art, private collections, institutional commissions, destination placemaking and artist-led cultural activations. Across these contexts, Kelleher develops works that are immediately recognizable while retaining the material ambition, authorship and permanence required of serious contemporary sculpture.

For collectors, galleries and cultural institutions, the work reflects a practice at an important point of international development. Kelleher’s sculptures are now established across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with projects ranging from unique private commissions and tightly controlled editions to major architectural installations and public-facing cultural experiences.

For developers, hospitality groups and brand partners, the project demonstrates how original contemporary art can create identity, emotional connection and long-term cultural value. Rather than operating as decoration, Kelleher’s work is conceived to become a defining image of its setting: a landmark, gathering point and visual memory that audiences associate directly with the place.
