Ken Kelleher Completes The Boundless Sea of Stars, a Six-Meter Mirror Stainless Steel Wave
The first of three editions transforms the force of water into a monumental reflective form.

HANGZHOU, CHINA — Internationally recognized sculptor Ken Kelleher, also known as Anchorball, has announced the completion, installation or presentation of The Boundless Sea of Stars, a major project from his expanding international practice.
Installed in December 2022, The Boundless Sea of Stars — The Wave — represents the force of nature in the form of a wave, frozen at the moment it appears to rise, fold and suspend itself in six meters of mirror-finish stainless steel.
Part of Kelleher's Elemental practice, the sculpture's reflective surface absorbs and transforms the surrounding landscape, compressing natural force into a permanent still object. Rather than depicting the ocean literally, it expresses its rhythm, power and constant transformation.
The first of three editions, the work stands among the defining pieces of Kelleher's international practice — a second edition enters Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Cultural District in 2026.
As the first work in an edition of only three, The Boundless Sea of Stars occupies a central position within Kelleher’s Elemental practice. Its later selection for Abu Dhabi reinforces the series’ international trajectory and makes the remaining opportunities within the edition especially significant for major collections and institutions.

The project forms part of Kelleher’s broader practice across Luminal Pop and Elemental sculpture, spanning monumental public art, private collections, institutional commissions, destination placemaking and artist-led cultural activations.
